09/28/2022 Costa Cruises simplifies COVID-19 protocols

According to a press release, Costa Cruises is updating its COVID-19 health protocols, making your vacation even more affordable.
The company said that from October 8, new simple procedures will allow guests to enjoy unlimited activities on board and ashore.
The main changes are in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and United Arab Emirates, where fully vaccinated guests will no longer need to be tested before boarding. In addition, unvaccinated guests with negative pre-boarding antigen tests will also be able to travel to the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
On Mediterranean (excluding Greece) and Caribbean cruises of less than 14 nights, guests who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to board without the need for additional pre-boarding tests.
Guests who have not been vaccinated or treated for COVID-19 will also be able to travel with Costa to these destinations by simply presenting upon boarding an official certificate of negative antigen swab (or also molecular RT-PCR swab, guest’s choice) carried out within 48 hours from the moment of landing.
All cruises calling at Greece will continue to be open only to fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated and recovered guests, and those who have been tested negative for antigens within 48 hours of embarkation.
On cruises visiting Morocco, guests without full vaccination will be required to take an additional molecular RT-PCR test on board 48 hours before entering the country. For Caribbean cruises, unvaccinated guests on Barbados, St. Vincent and St. Martin are permitted to disembark only with a negative antigen test taken 24 or 48 hours before the ship’s arrival. These tests, as well as tests scheduled before entering Morocco, can be taken on board Costa ships at a special price.
Cruises in the UAE, Oman and Qatar are currently only available to fully vaccinated guests, but without the requirement for pre-boarding testing.
Around the world, transatlantic cruises and generally all cruises over 14 nights require guests to be fully vaccinated and receive a negative antigen test within 48 hours of boarding. In addition, the use of a mask on board will be mandatory in public areas for the first seven days of the cruise, while in other destinations (Mediterranean, Caribbean, UAE) the use of a mask is simply recommended.
