Celestyal waives most COVID-19 requirements

Celestyal Cruises has announced the immediate waiving of most of its pre-boarding requirements due to COVID-19.
According to the press release, passengers will no longer be required to show proof of valid vaccination or health certificates, but will still be required to present a negative test before boarding the company’s ships.
According to Celestyal, the decision follows recent relaxations by the Greek National Committee of Public Health for cruise passengers.
The company added that the pre-boarding testing measure provides guests with “peace of mind” and will remain in effect until the end of the 2022 cruise season.
Accepted tests include either a rapid antigen test administered 48 hours prior to boarding or a PCR test administered 72 hours prior to boarding.
“The health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve is our top priority, and we continue to monitor and adapt to the evolving global situation,” said Celestyal chief commercial officer Leslie Peden.
All Celestyal crew members will remain fully vaccinated, and the company encourages guests 12 years of age and older to be fully vaccinated.
As previously announced, for the 2023 season, guests on all Celestyal cruises will no longer be required to take a pre-boarding test or proof of valid vaccination or clean certificates, unless required by local law.
The company says its health and safety measures are continually assessed and adjusted based on new and updated prevention, treatment and mitigation measures.
