More than 10 new air routes will launch from Kazakhstan this year

Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar reported to the President of the Republic for the work done to implement the “open skies” regime in Kazakhstan. The Civil Aviation Committee reported this on its telegram channel.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, 12 new air routes were launched in Kazakhstan in 2019. Among which are destinations where direct flights have not previously been implemented – to Prague (Czech Republic), Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) and Tokyo (Japan).

This year, another 14 routes are expected to open, operated by airlines from Qatar, Poland, Oman, Belarus, Malaysia, Romania, the UAE, and Kuwait. In addition, according to Roman Sklyar, negotiations are currently underway with the aviation authorities of Switzerland, South Korea, Singapore, Latvia, Lithuania.

After listening to the report, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue active work to expand Kazakhstan’s air links with interested states. He also noted the importance of increasing competition in the aviation sector. Since this will have a positive impact on the quality of passenger service and the development of civil aviation in general.
