Costa makes adjustments to cruise deployment in 2021 and 2022

Costa Cruises has announced a number of updates to the 2022 cruise season featuring Costa Firenze, Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda.

Costa Firenze is still scheduled to enter service on July 4th from Savona and will operate in the Mediterranean until the end of November 2021.

In the winter of 2021-2022, the ship will sail from Dubai on cruises to the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, including a visit to Expo 2021 Dubai.

The ship will return to Europe next April to offer week-long cruises to Italy, France and Spain, and will not sail to China as previously expected.

Costa’s presence in the Mediterranean will be further enhanced by Costa Toscana as it will focus on seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises, including calls at Barcelona and Valencia in the spring or Ibiza and Valencia in the summer. It should also be noted that Toscana will not sail to South America in the 2021-2022 season as previously announced, with Smeralda taking her place before returning to the Mediterranean for cruises in Italy, France and Spain.

“Costa’s offer for the remainder of this year and all of next year is rich and robust. As a result of the positive feedback and inquiries we have received since opening sales, we have made improvements and additions to our programs, continuing our plan for a gradual, phased relaunch in a still evolving situation. Thanks to this approach, we offer guests a great experience on modern ships, world-class service, restaurants and spas, and a strong presence in all regions. – said Mario Zanetti, President of Costa Cruises, – in the Mediterranean from May 2022, we will deploy three of our most innovative ships for the first time for a truly unique cruise holiday.

Costa’s program for winter 2021-2022 now includes four additional ships.

Costa Diadema departs September 26 from Savona, offering long-term cruises to Turkey and Greece or Spain and Portugal. It will be deployed to the Caribbean from December.

Costa Fascinosa will return to service on September 23rd again from Savona for 10-night cruises to Lisbon, and will offer cruises to South America in the winter.

Costa Deliziosa will continue her Eastern Mediterranean cruise program until January 8, 2022, when she will depart on a world cruise.

Costa Luminosa, currently operating in the Eastern Mediterranean, will sail two-week cruises to the Canary Islands or Israel.

During the 2022 summer season, in addition to the Costa Firenze, Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana in the Western Mediterranean, three ships – Costa Deliziosa, Costa Luminosa and Costa Pacifica – will be in the Eastern Mediterranean. Four additional ships: Costa Diadema, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fortuna will operate in Northern Europe.
