Costa reveals four-ship Mediterranean summer program for 2021

Costa Cruises has announced that it will have four ships sailing in the Mediterranean this summer, two ships in the Western Mediterranean and two more in the Eastern Mediterranean, and will operate in accordance with the Safety Protocol Costa.

“We have updated our program for this summer based on the port and destination reopening scenario that is becoming increasingly clear and allows us to better plan our operations and offer extraordinary cruise vacations to many guests who want to relax and unwind “- said Mario Zanetti, President of Costa Cruises.

“We have decided to focus on places in the Mediterranean close to our European guests that can be discovered or rediscovered in a truly unique way. Now we can finally say that summer on the Costa has begun and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal guests as well as newcomers – they can all count on us for high quality service, food and entertainment, great destinations and exceptional experiences on board with enhanced safety protocols “.

Costa’s two newest ships will operate in the Western Mediterranean: Costa Smeralda and Costa Firenze.

Costa Smeralda will set sail from May 1st on three- and four-day mini-cruises that will allow you to enjoy a shorter experience or, alternatively, a week-long cruise calling at Savona, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Naples Messina and Cagliari.

This Italian itinerary will be extended until July 3, when the ship returns to offer week-long cruises visiting Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo and Civitavecchia.

Italian cruises will continue to be available on the Costa Firenze, which sets out on its maiden voyage on July 4th with an all-Italian itinerary that includes Savona, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Naples, Messina and Cagliari. From September 12 to mid-October, Costa Firenze will also offer week-long international cruises including Savona, Civitavecchia, Naples, Ibiza, Barcelona and Marseille.

Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa will be located in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Costa Luminosa will set sail on May 16 from Trieste and the following day from Bari, focusing on the Greek destinations of Corfu, Piraeus (Athens), Mykonos and Katakolon.

Cruises on the Costa Deliziosa will resume from June 26th, offering a week-long itinerary with Venice, an extended one-day and one-day stopover in Mykonos, and then Katakolona, Corfu and Bari.

The company said the remainder of the summer season, including the Nordic program through mid-September 2021, has been canceled due to “the level of uncertainty surrounding the reopening of multiple destinations which does not currently guarantee route feasibility “.
