Cunard Line's new cruise ship will be named Queen Anne

Cunard Line has announced the name of the new cruise ship joining its world-famous fleet – MS Queen Anne.

She will be Cunard’s 249th ship and is expected to form a remarkable quartet of Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2. This will be the first time since 1999 that the line will have 4 ships at sea.

The name “Queen Anne” celebrates Cunard’s rich heritage, royal history and sophisticated status, joining a luxurious, modern fleet that honors the names of every Cunard Line ship over the last millennium.

The Cunard team explored several naming options. Inspired by the reign of Queen Anne, the company turned to British historian, author and broadcaster Kate Williams to help with the research.

The Fincantieri-built Queen Anne boasts reimagined Cunard signature spaces and the introduction of new passenger experiences in entertainment, dining and culture, an unparalleled experience backed by White Star Service.

Bringing together contemporary luxury, the 3,000-passenger Queen Anne celebrates influential design styles of both the present and past and features an updated Cunard livery. The decor showcases bold color tones and showcases striking aesthetics while maintaining Cunard’s timeless sophistication.

With a design inspired by the past and looking to the future, Queen Anne is the perfect way for our guests to rediscover the joy of exploration and travel. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks and months.”

Queen Anne’s first season will go on sale in May 2022, with the ship’s first voyages scheduled for early 2024.
