Location and status of every MSC cruise ship: December update

With 12 ships currently in service, the MSC Cruises fleet is gradually moving towards a full return to commercial operations. We present to you the location and status of each vessel as of December 17, 2021.

MSC Seashore
Year of construction: 2021
Capacity: 4560 people
Status: In Operation
Location: Eastern Caribbean

After its first season in Europe, MSC Seashore is now sailing throughout the Caribbean. The ship offers week-long cruises from Miami to the western and eastern Caribbean, visiting ports in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and more.

MSC Virtuosa
Year of construction: 2021
Capacity: 4888 guests
Status: In service
Location: Middle East

MSC Virtuosa is currently in service in the Middle East. The Meraviglia class ship offers seven-night cruises from Dubai to Doha, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and more.

MSC Grandiosa
Year of construction: 2019
Capacity: 4888 guests
Status: In service
Location: Western Mediterranean

Grandiosa became the first ship to resume MSC Cruises sailings and has been sailing with guests in the Western Mediterranean since August 2020. It currently offers a 7-day itinerary to Italy, France, Spain and Malta.

MSC Bellissima
Year of construction: 2019
Capacity: 4500 people
Status: In service
Location: Red Sea

MSC Bellissima currently offers Red Sea cruises from the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The vessel sailed to its new home port in July, and the local program began shortly thereafter.

MSC Seaview
Year of construction: 2018
Capacity: 4140 guests
Status: In operation
Location: Eastern Caribbean

MSC Seaview is currently cruising the Caribbean. The ship offers week-long itineraries from Barbados and St. Maarten to popular destinations in the eastern and southern Caribbean, including Grenada and St. Kitts.

MSC Meraviglia
Year of construction: 2017
Capacity: 4500 people
Status: In service
Location: Western Caribbean

MSC Meraviglia is another MSC ship sailing in the Caribbean, currently based at Port Canaveral. The ship’s itinerary includes cruises of six to eight nights to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas.

MSC Seaside
Year of construction: 2017
Capacity: 4140 guests
Status: In service
Location: Brazil

MSC Seaside arrived in Brazil in December after completing the summer season in the Western Mediterranean. The ship is based in Santos until March, offering a series of week-long domestic cruises around the country.

MSC Preziosa
Year of construction: 2013
Capacity: 3500 people
Status: In service
Location: Brazil

MSC Preziosa is also currently in service in Brazil. The ship departs from Rio de Janeiro and offers a series of domestic cruises around Brazil, visiting places such as Maceio, Salvador and Ilha Grande.

MSC Divina
Year of construction: 2012
Capacity: 3500 people
Status: In service
Location: Western Caribbean

After resuming service with a series of cruises from Port Canaveral, MSC Divina moved to Miami in December. The ship is now sailing cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean from her new home port.

MSC Magnifica
Year of construction: 2010
Capacity: 2550 people
Status: In service
Location: Northern Europe

MSC Magnifica offers winter cruises to Northern Europe with week-long itineraries visiting France, England, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

MSC Splendida
Year of construction: 2009
Capacity: 3300 guests
Status: In service
Location: Brazil

After crossing the Atlantic without guests, MSC Splendida launched a local program in Brazil on December 16th. Based in Santos, the ship will offer week-long itineraries around the country until March.

MSC Fantasia
Year of construction: 2008
Capacity: 3300 guests
Status: In operation
Location: Western Mediterranean

MSC Fantasia resumed guest operations on November 8th after a 20-month hiatus. The ship is currently operating a series of seven-night cruises to Italy, France and Spain.

MSC Poesia
Year of construction: 2008
Capacity: 2550 people
Status: Operational pause
Location: La Valletta, Malta

MSC Poesia is undergoing scheduled work and regular maintenance in dry dock at the Palumbo Group shipyard in La Valletta. It is expected to resume operations in May 2022.

MSC Orchestra
Year of construction: 2007
Capacity: 2550 people
Status: Operational pause
Location: Durban, South Africa

With some local cruises recently canceled due to the evolving pandemic in the region, MSC Orchestra is looking forward to resuming operations in Durban, South Africa.

MSC Musica
Year of construction: 2006
Capacity: 2550 people

Location: Genoa, Italy

MSC Musica continues to operate in Italy. The ship is currently moored in Genoa and is scheduled to resume service in May 2022.

MSC Opera

Capacity: 1712 people

Location: Naples, Italy

MSC Opera conducts an operational pause in Italy. It is moored in the port of Naples along with the MSC Sinfonia.

MSC Lirica
Year of construction: 2003
Capacity: 1560 people

Location: La Valletta, Malta

MSC Lirica is currently undergoing refurbishment at the Palumbo Group shipyard in La Valletta, Malta.

MSC Sinfonia
Year of construction: 2002
Capacity: 1554 people
Status: Operational pause
Location: Naples, Italy

With the relaunch postponed to 2022, MSC Sinfonia remains moored in Naples, Italy, along with MSC Opera.

MSC Armonia
Year of construction: 2001
Capacity: 1554 people
Status: Operational pause
Location: Corfu, Greece

MSC Armonia returned to Europe in August after spending most of the operational break in North America. The ship is currently docked on the island of Corfu, Greece.
