Revolution in family vacation

Today begins a new era of relaxation. Royal Caribbean International presents the first look at the highly anticipated travel icon, Icon of the Seas. Construction of the ship will be completed in late 2023 ahead of its debut cruise in January 2024. The first Icon class vessel will be a one-of-a-kind combination of the best in the tourism industry. From relaxing days by the beach to adventures at the water park, Icon allows any adventurer to live their version of the perfect family vacation. Guests can book their iconic adventure from October 25th. Members of the Crown & Anchor will receive exclusive access a day early on October 24th. “With every new ship we add, we raise the bar in the travel industry by enhancing what our guests know and love,” said Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “From the moment they step on board, every experience is tailor-made to give them the best holiday experience anywhere on land and sea. With Icon of the Seas, we’ve taken this to the next level and created the perfect family vacation.” The stunning Icon offers a variety of first-class and next-level favorites for all guests – families, couples and groups of friends. • Thrill Island. Travelers can test their limits, conquer new heights and reach top speeds in the heart of the thrill. This fun island adventure is home to the largest water park in the sea with six slides: Pressure Drop with a 66-degree incline will make it the industry’s first open free-fall coaster; Frightening Bolt over 15 meters high, the highest slide in the sea; Storm Surge and Hurricane Hunter, the first family slide where four riders can go down at once on a raft; and Storm Chasers, the first tablet racing coaster duo. Living on the edge takes on new meaning with Crown’s Edge. Travelers will be able to walk at an altitude of almost 50 meters above sea level, and at the end of the journey a surprise awaits them.

Royal Caribbean’s signature theater takes artistry and cutting-edge technology to a new level level thanks to a transforming pool, four robotic arms, state-of-the-art projection and much more. 3 returning areas and other favoritesThe cruise line has raised the bar even higher in each of its signature areas: the grand Royal Promenade offers panoramic ocean views for the first time, as well as more than 15 restaurants, cafes, bars and lounges; there are more dining and entertainment options in a more lush and vibrant Central Park; and the company’s largest, Suite Neighborhood, features three luxurious decks offering a multi-level sundeck – The Grove – with a private pool, Jacuzzi and bar, and a two-story Coastal Kitchen restaurant. Other favorites include a new take on miniature golf at Lost Dunes, the climbing wall at Adrenaline Peak and Absolute Zero, Royal Caribbean’s largest ice arena, and restaurants like Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and Asian Restaurant Izumi in Central Park. Icon will offer 28 different accommodation options, with cabins designed to suit the needs of every holidaymaker. New cabins are designed for families of three, four, five or even more, such as the Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite—with children’s rooms hidden from the adults—and the three-story Family Townhouse Ultimate Family Townhouse. When it comes to views, some of the best are the new categories – Sunset Corner Suites and Panoramic Ocean Views at AquaDome. The debut of the Icon Class will also mark the first and next step in Royal Caribbean’s journey towards a clean energy future. Icon will be the cruise line’s first ship to feature fuel cell technology and run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), the cleanest marine fuel. Along with other proven technologies such as shore power connectivity and waste heat recovery systems, the new ship will be the cruise line’s greenest to date. The bold new standard of relaxation also extends to those at the heart of Icon – the team. The place where they live and work has been reimagined with more intuitive design, amenities, fitness facilities and activities, including a new proprietary cabin designed by the crew for the crew. Icon will operate year-round 7-night Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami. Each cruise will include calls at Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, where adventurers can experience their perfect vacation day. Vacationers will also visit Caribbean gems such as Cozumel, Mexico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Roatan, Honduras.
